Schwinn was founded by Ignaz Schwinn in 1895 and became the main bicycle manufacturer in America the rest of the 20th century. In mid-1970 saw the oil crisis to force many people to use the bicycle as an important means of transportation and recreation. This period also saw Schwinn combine efforts with Panasonic. Large models out of Schwinn / Panasonic association are also two of the most popular vintage Schwinn today, the World and World Traveller Voyager.

Probably one Schwinn bike from the greatest to maintain a high "vintage" status is the Banana bike … and made a lot of them in the years 1960 and 1970. Does Stingray sound? What Apple box?
